About TRAVEL SONGS

June, 2006

Travelsongs is about passion for life, expression and experience. Travelsongs is about original music, photos and travel stories. These are my personal experiences travelling through the world. Some of the places I've been include most of Western Canada, The United States, Spain, France, England, Central America and Mexico. I started full time wandering in the fall of 2002 but really, I've been travelling all my life. It's been over 3 years now since I left Canada. I've been living in South Korea for the last 2 years. Most recently I've journeyed to southeast Asia: the Philippines, Japan and Thailand. I have plans to travel to Nepal, Mongolia, Tibet and China in the next couple of years.

Musical Notes

My musical choices are folk, roots, blues, Celtic and world beat. I also like traditional indigenous and Latin American music. My main instruments are acoustic guitar, bass and mandolin but I also dabble with flutes, whistles and drums. I mostly write traditional with an innovative ear.

  • Writing, arranging and production credits for OOKPIC's "Pond Dynamics"

Current Projects

Right now I am completing an album of original folk/blues tunes. It will be available on this page in a short while now. All the songs are arranged, performed, recorded and produced by myself. It's my third album after a long hiatus from the studio.

Other Notes

Rob Carlson (Nonstop Design), a good friend and great web designer, is responsible for all of the technical aspects of the page.

I hope you gain inspiration and insight from these few moments and words.

R.B. Wilson
